Programme Overview

The English Medical Program (EMP) of the University of Patras is a six-year international medical degree taught entirely in English. The programme combines strong scientific foundations, laboratory education, clinical skills training and advanced clinical practice in modern medical environments.

The School of Medicine aims to create a dynamic and internationally competitive academic environment through collaboration with international institutions and research centres.

Admissions & Selection Criteria

  • Applicants must be foreign nationals
  • Completion of final two years of secondary education abroad
  • High school diploma granting access to higher education
  • Applicants with medicine-related degrees may also apply
  • English proficiency at B2 level or TOEFL score of at least 79/120

  • Interview with Curriculum Committee – 30%
  • Top 50 applicants admitted annually

Visa & Residence Information

  • Non-EU students require a Type D Long-Stay Student Visa
  • Official acceptance letter from the university is required
  • Medical travel insurance is mandatory
  • Students staying longer than 3 months must apply for a residence permit in Greece
